• 1. Caring

our partner artisans work with raw material- sheep & llama wool - and normally look after the animals in the communities they live.

  • 2. Shearing

the shearing process takes place once a year and before the summer months - typically between September and November.

  • 3. Washing

artisans clean and manually wash the wool or llama fibre. some products are washed by machine and if this is the case, it’s specified in the product section.

  • 4. Spinning

the hand-spinning process is fascinating to watch. it’s a twisting technique to form yarns from fibres. it can be done with a spindle or a spinning wooden wheel.

  • 5. Dyeing

the majority of our products are dyed with natural pigments that come from plants, flowers, fruits. a small proportion is dyed with anilines to create stronger colours.

  • 6. Weaving

where the magic happens; the loom! our artisans weave their hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns in their wooden looms - also made by them, by hand. the looms are located in their houses and it’s their main working tool.

We exist to ethically produce high-quality and long-lasting homewares and textiles that are sustainably made by artisans that live in remote areas of the Andes.

Our treasures are unique, entirely handmade and by purchasing them you help communities to thrive and preserve their heritage.
